About the event
Presented by: Counselor Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board of Ohio
Overview:
Over the past several years, families are either initiating or returning to family courts to establish and/or modify allocation of parental rights and responsibilities. As a result, clinicians who have specialized training and expertise in child custody matters are in high demand. Conversely, those who desire to practice in this area are accepting families without formal training and/or knowledge of child custody and the rules and laws set forth by the Ohio Counselor Social Worker, & Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Likewise, families and clinicians are often jeopardized by family law practitioners and family courts who are unaware of the Laws & Rules these ethical dilemmas can cause. This presentation will identify key considerations of the clinician, family law professionals, and the bench.
Who should attend:
This presentation is relevant to anyone practicing in family law including judges, magistrates, attorneys, guardian ad litems, parent coordinators, mediators, and mental health providers (social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists) who engage families in mental health care that are either experiencing custodial issues or there is a potential for custodial issues to arise.
