AFCC 16th Symposium on Child Custody
WE ARE
OHIO CHAPTER OF THE AFCC
The Ohio Chapter of the AFCC was founded in 2014 as a collaboration of judges, magistrate’s, attorney’s, mental health professionals, and dispute resolution experts to encourage membership of local professionals to the parent organization, to provide top-notch local training opportunities, and to improve the network of professionals committed to the well-being of families and children.
President's Message
OUR
The AFCC and the Ohio Chapter have never been more relevant and important for those of us who work with court-involved families and others going through major family restructuring. I like to think of our organization as a huge team of professionals – all working toward common goals – the most important of which is to mitigate damage to children who are innocent bystanders often stuck in the quagmire of complex legal and other challenges created by their parents. Our landscape is constantly changing, and AFCC, including the Ohio Chapter, strives to be the premier source of best practices information, no matter what your practice is. These changes – whether social, political, technological, scientific, economic or otherwise, require that we as professionals, as well as those we help, navigate through new and increasingly complex laws, regulations, rules and other mandates. In addition, the technological tools available to us are proliferating, and AFCC provides the most up-to-date guidance on which tools provide the best benefit. I have come to heavily rely on the invaluable resources available to me through this organization. My toolbox is ever expanding as a result of the vast knowledge and experience I’ve found in AFCC.
